Luniva

Born in a laundrette

Born in a laundrette. Built for real life.

Luniva started from hands-on textile-cleaning experience: shirts, school uniforms, workwear and the everyday stains that come with them. We bring that professional cleaning knowledge into everyday homes.

A British cleaning science company, born from real-world textile care.

From laundrette floors to laundry shelves

  1. 1

    Real life, every day

Years on laundrette floors meant seeing the stains behind real lives: school uniforms, favourite shirts, workwear, curry, coffee, sweat, oil and grease.

  2. 2

    The discovery

In hospitals, hotels and commercial kitchens, active enzyme-based systems were already destroying stains completely, without damaging fabric. The tech existed. It just wasn't available to regular people.

  3. 3

    The lab (Germany)

Working with German chemical engineers, the formula went through 43 failed iterations. Each was tested on real stains: collar grime, cooking oil, grass, set-in sweat. Not lab swatches. Real clothes.

  4. 4

    Formula 44

The one that passed every test. Proteases for proteins. Lipases for fats. Amylases for starches. Multiple active enzymes working together to break stains down at their molecular source.

Now a family of two

Formula 44 launched as Luniva Enzyme Powered (pink): an enzymatic everyday cleaner for food, blood, sweat, curry and protein stains. After repeated requests from mechanics, chefs and workwear laundries, we engineered Luniva Pro Formula (blue): a solvent-action, non-enzymatic degreaser for oil, grease, diesel and workwear.

Same lab. Two specialised chemistries.

Pro Formula is solvent-based: use it in a well-ventilated area, away from open flames, and never mix it with bleach.

The chemist

Meet the mind behind Formula 44

Every Luniva bottle carries one chemist's signature: the same hands that formulated it, tested it and refused to ship it until it beat what he was using in industrial laundries.

Catalin Ghironte

Co-founder & chief scientist · Romanian-born, based in Germany

Raised and trained in Germany, Catalin spent a decade leading active enzyme blend development for one of Europe's largest industrial detergent suppliers. In 2024 he founded Luniva to bring the same commercial-grade enzyme engineering to the household shelf, at a price ordinary homes can afford, and in a format that never compromises colour or fabric safety.

Luniva … uses biology to dismantle the stain at its building blocks, then washes away as if it was never there.

Four rules. Zero exceptions.

  • Proof over promises

Every claim is backed by real results, not clever copy. If we can't prove it, we don't say it.

  • Results over marketing

We'd rather show you a before-and-after than write a tagline. The product is the marketing.

  • Fabric care over shortcuts

Treat the stain, not the whole garment. Each product is made for one job, so your clothes get exactly what they need.

  • Simplicity over gimmicks

Each bottle has one purpose. Spray it. Wash it. Done. No confusing variants or 12-step routines.

Two bottles. One mission. Thousands of saved clothes.

  • Families with young kids who go through uniforms faster than they can replace them.
  • Professionals who can't afford to bin workwear every month.
  • Laundry services who need consistent, first-time results on every garment.
  • People who've tried everything else and Googled “how to remove set-in stains” at midnight.
  • German-engineered formula
  • UK-based distribution
  • Lab-tested formula

Your clothes have more life in them.
