Chef Whites Stain Remover: Oil, Grease & Sauce

Chef whites collect oil splatter, butter splashes, sauce and grease from every shift — and that's before service even starts. A standard 60°C wash with detergent will not lift baked-on oil residue, which is how chef jackets pick up that grey-yellow shadow over time. Luniva Pro Formula is a heavy-duty solvent-action degreaser engineered for kitchen workwear. Spray, wait 1–3 minutes, wash at 60°C. Bleach-free, so the whites stay white and the fabric lasts longer.

Why chef whites pick up a yellow-grey shadow

Cooking oils, butter and animal fats are lipid stains that bond to cotton and polycotton fibres on contact. A normal hot wash emulsifies free oil but cannot break the polymerised residue that builds up between washes. Pro Formula's solvent-action chemistry dissolves the residue before it gets baked in by the next service.

How to use Luniva on chef whites & kitchen workwear · pro formula

  1. Step 1 — Spray Pro Formula at end of shift: Spray every splash, splatter and front-of-jacket grease line. Don't wait until the wash day.
  2. Step 2 — Wait 1–3 minutes: Solvent-action chemistry breaks down the cooking oil so it releases from the fibre.
  3. Step 3 — Wash at 60°C: Wash chef whites at 60°C on a cottons cycle. Air-dry first; inspect before tumble-drying.

Compliance note: Based on controlled laboratory testing. Performance may vary by stain age, fabric type and wash conditions.

Frequently asked questions

Can Pro Formula keep chef whites white?

Yes — it works by removing the oil residue that causes yellowing, instead of bleaching the fabric. Spray every shift, wash at 60°C, air-dry. Whites stay whiter for longer and the fabric lasts longer too.

Will Pro Formula remove old, yellowed grease shadow?

Yes. For set-in yellowing, spray Pro Formula and leave 1–3 minutes before washing at 60°C. Air-dry in daylight for the final lift. Repeat once if needed.

Should I use the pink Enzyme bottle for tomato or curry splashes on a chef jacket?

Both work — but pick by stain type. Use the pink Enzyme bottle for protein/food pigment stains (tomato, curry, blood). Use Pro Formula for the oil and grease that comes with them. Many chefs keep both.

Is Pro Formula safe on polycotton chef jackets?

Yes. Pro Formula is engineered to be safe on cotton and polycotton workwear including chef whites. Spot-test on a hidden seam for high-performance synthetic chef wear.

Do I need to wash chef whites separately?

Yes — always. Kitchen workwear carries grease, fat and food residue. Washing it separately protects household laundry from cross-contamination in the drum.
