Mechanic Overalls Stain Remover for Oil, Grease & Diesel

Mechanic overalls and workshop coveralls take a beating — engine oil, grease, diesel, hydraulic fluid and chain lube, often on the same shift. Standard detergent leaves a dark grey shadow on the knees, sleeves and chest. Luniva Pro Formula is the heavy-duty solvent-action degreaser built for workshop workwear: spray, wait 1–3 minutes, wash separately as normal, following the garment care label. Bleach-free and colour-safe on standard workshop coveralls.

Why workshop overalls keep their grey shadow

Engine oil, grease and hydraulic fluid are heat- and water-resistant hydrocarbons designed to cling to metal. A normal wash spreads them across the rest of the overall instead of lifting them out. The grey shadow you see is oil that's been emulsified into the fibre, not removed. Pro Formula's solvent action dissolves the hydrocarbon before the wash starts.

How to use Luniva on mechanic overalls & workshop coveralls · pro formula

  1. Step 1 — Spray the heavy-load zones: Treat knees, sleeve cuffs, chest and any visible oil/grease/diesel marks. Saturate every spot.
  2. Step 2 — Wait 1–3 minutes: Solvent-action chemistry breaks the hydrocarbon bond so the residue lifts away from the weave.
  3. Step 3 — Wash separately as normal, following the garment care label: Wash workshop overalls on their own (never with everyday laundry). Air-dry; inspect before tumble.

Compliance note: Based on controlled laboratory testing. Performance may vary by stain age, fabric type and wash conditions.

Frequently asked questions

Will Pro Formula remove engine oil and diesel from the same overall?

Yes. Both are hydrocarbons in the same chemical family. Spray every affected area, wait 1–3 minutes, wash separately as normal, following the garment care label. Repeat once for deeply set-in marks.

Is Pro Formula safe on hi-vis workshop coveralls?

Yes on standard hi-vis polycotton coveralls. Spot-test on a hidden seam for arc-rated and flame-retardant coatings, and avoid spraying directly onto reflective tape.

How do I get the grey shadow out of old overalls?

Spray Pro Formula on the shadow zones (knees, sleeves, chest), wait 1–3 minutes, wash separately as normal, following the garment care label, then air-dry. Repeat the treatment once. Most long-term shadow lifts on the second pass.

Should I use the pink Enzyme bottle on workshop overalls?

No. The pink Enzyme bottle is built for protein and everyday food stains. Workshop oil, grease and diesel need Pro Formula's solvent-action chemistry.

Do I need to wash workshop overalls separately?

Yes — always. Even after Pro Formula treatment, washing workshop coveralls on their own protects everyday laundry from trace fuel and oil residue.
