The method
- 1Spray the stainSpray the right bottle onto the stain until it's wet through. Don't rub.
- 2Wait 1–3 minutesLeave it to work. Don't let it dry; if it starts to, mist it again.
- 3Wash as normalWash with your usual detergent at the temperature on the care label. Air-dry and check the stain has gone before using a dryer.
Treat the stain before any bleach
Chlorine bleach reacts with turmeric, the yellow pigment in curry, and can turn the stain bright orange. It also does nothing for oily marks, which need breaking down rather than whitening. So treat stains with the sprays first: both sprays are bleach-free.
Never mix Pro Formula with bleach, ammonia or other cleaners: spray it on its own, then wash.
Keeping whites bright in the wash
For all-over brightness, Luniva Super White is a chlorine bleach powder for whites only. Add it directly to the wash with your usual detergent: 5 g for light soiling, 10 g for normal and 15 g for heavy. Don't use it on wool, silk, colours or delicate fabrics.
For mixed loads of colours and whites, Luniva Oxi Power is an oxygen stain remover and laundry booster, effective from 30°C.
Don't use either powder in the same wash as anything you've treated with Pro Formula, and read the safety information on each tub before use.
Blood on white clothes
Use the pink one: Enzyme PoweredRinse fresh blood under cold running water from the back of the fabric first. Never use hot water: heat sets blood. Then spray Enzyme Powered, wait 1–3 minutes and wash at no more than 40°C.
Top tips
- Wash whites separately from new or dark colours so dye can't transfer.
- Treat stains as soon as you can. Fresh stains come out more easily than ones that have been washed and dried.
- Check before tumble drying or ironing: heat sets whatever is left.
Questions
Yes. Both sprays are bleach-free and made for washable fabrics, white or coloured. Pick the bottle by the stain: Enzyme Powered for food, drink, sweat and blood, Pro Formula for grease and oily marks.
Wash at the temperature shown on the garment care label. A normal 30–40°C machine wash with your usual detergent is fine for everyday laundry. For blood, rinse in cold water first.
That's the bleach reacting with turmeric. Treat the mark with Enzyme Powered, wait 1–3 minutes and wash as normal. Marks that have been through the wash and dryer may need more than one treatment.
